The Park Slope Singers

This congenial group of about sixty people likes to sing, so they get together weekly to make music.  They rehearse on Monday evenings in the lower level of St. Saviour Church, with singers taking turns providing refreshments for rehearsal breaks.  They also provide them for after-concert receptions, as well as planning, setting up and cleaning up.  Concerts are performed twice a year, usually in January and June.

This month, they are presenting Hearing Double & Much More in two venues featuring a Te Deum by both Mozart and Haydn; an Ave Maria by both Victoria and Mantijarvi; It Was a Lover And his Lass by Morley and Rutter; and “much more”…

Their first performance is this Friday, January 18, at 8:00 pm at the Church of the Good Shepherd, located on 4th Avenue and 76th Street in Bay Ridge.  Then, they’ll repeat this concert on Saturday, January 26th at 3:00 pm at St. Saviour Church on 8th Avenue and 6th Street in Park Slope, with a reception following.  Bring a friend or two; both concerts are wheelchair accessible.  $15 tickets ($10 for seniors and students) are available onsite 45 minutes before each concert, or from our parishioner Terry Noll, who sings second alto with this chorus!

“I am excited to be part of the Park Slope Singers, and could not have hoped to rise to the challenges the music presents without the education I received being part of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Choir”, says Terry.  “Singing is something that fills your soul with happiness… regardless of the form or format it takes.”  For more information, visit
