"Nobody is doing it better!"

This was the expression used when St. Francis Preparatory School Music Department was the first school ever to earn the Middle States Association’s Music Credential, which only recognizes the most sophisticated programs with the highest goals in music education. The faculty is heralded as “some of the finest music educators in the country.” The program is considered as providing an “open and creative atmosphere… that allows students to have fun, enjoy learning and freely express themselves through their music.”

Students with no previous training can experience the aesthetic of music and study instruments as beginners, and discover the joy of performing after only a few months. In addition to performance instruction, courses are offered in Theory, Electronic Orchestration, Music Technology and Production, and Music History; some for college credit!

The more elite ensembles have appeared on Good Morning America; toured Australia, England, and Italy; and performed for Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI, President and Mrs. Clinton; as well as the parishioners of Immaculate Heart of Mary for Mass at two concerts!

And if you would like to hear more of them, they have three more concerts coming up in their own auditorium. This Friday, March 8th will be a Jazz/Pop Concert at 8:00 pm, followed by Spring Concerts I & II on Friday, April 26th and Friday, May 3rd, respectively. They have graciously sent some free passes for these concerts, so if you can go support their efforts, or want to investigate a possible school for your child, please contact me.
