New musician's chairs!

If you were at Mass this weekend and glanced over at the music platform, you may have noticed we have new musician’s chairs! But we didn’t just buy them because they look nice...

The extra padding and upholstery are more comfortable so we won’t tire as easily and can perform better. Their design promotes better posture, for better breath support, with seats that are slightly higher in the back. And they have extra-large book racks to hold music, so choir members don’t have to juggle a Breaking Bread, a choral hymnal and a music folder, and bend all the way to the ground to switch books. They also interlock, to prevent one from sliding off the platform.

I started shopping around for chairs two years ago, but then the sound system became a priority so we purchased that first. Of the four church furniture manufacturers I researched, this company, Sauder Worship Furniture, was the least expensive with the best design capabilities.

So consider joining the choir! Now, no matter how packed the church gets on Easter or Christmas, you have a reserved, padded, comfortable seat. (And it’s a lot easier on your knees, since there are no kneelers!) Don't worry about your voice not being good enough. There's an old saying that goes
“If God gave you a good voice, raise it and sing praise with it. And if God gave you a bad voice, raise it even louder and get even!
